Necchi Julia

This is a gorgeous Julia Supernova, with lots of goodies. The Julia is widely considered the best, most capable machine in the Supernova line.

NJoa

This machine is very pretty in pink and cream (Julias also came in lilac and cream), and includes an original Necchi foot controller, accessory box with feet and cams, and a manual on CD.

NJfront

The machine has been completely refurbished, and has very few cosmetic flaws.

NJback

This machine still has its magnifying glass and needle threader, rather unusual since these have usually broken off in the last 50 years.

The magnifying glass slides down from inside the faceplate.

NJmagInside

The machine has a "MIN" and "MAX" speed setting (slow and fast), feed-dog drop, and holes for a treadle belt (yes, it could be treadled).

NJswitches

Cams and attachments for the Julia came in a soft plastic case, versus other Supernovas which had hard-plastic cases. This particular box is smaller than the version I'm more familiar with.

Inside the box, an upper tray swings out to reveal a second lower tier.

The machine accommodates both single and compound cams. The single cams are in a compartment (top right in photo below) with flip-levers to aid in getting them out. This set has all except one of the single cams, #34-35. It has all three of the circular-opening compound disc assemblies, XXXI (Turkish Hemstitch), XXXII (Shell Stitch), and XXXIII (Paris Stitch). And it has the disc holder bushing (green), upon which custom compound cams can be built from the individual ones. And the big metallic cam at front right is the buttonhole cam.

There are seven additional automatic cams, I, III, IV, V, VII, XVI, and XXI in this set; originally there would have been a few more.

Feet/attachments include a ruffler/pleater, bias binder, buttonholing foot with built-in cutter, quilting guide, guide for blindstitching, double-needle foot, straight-stitch foot, button-sewing foot, raised-scallop/cording foot, treansparent zigzag foot, narrow-hem foot with ZZ slot (for shell hemming), narrow-hem foot with SS hole, straight guide with screw, pouch with extra hook for needle threader and cutter for buttonholing foot, needles, including double needle, stopper for circular sewing with pin, and the elusive stop disc plate.

NJfeet

A manual is included on CD, and a scan of the stitch-wheel. This machine has been sold.
