Pfaff model L treadle

Pfaff made some gorgeous treadles, and this is definitely one of them.

Beautifully ornate ironwork, with extensive gilding:

Note the two pans to hold oil and kerosene cans (borrowed from my Pfaff 11 treadle), and the pull-out pin cushion under the table:

The machine is beautiful as well, with very nice decals... worn off on the parts where fabric has run over the bed, but nice in the less-used areas.

Those decals are not silvered, that's just the way the light is washing out the color. Amazing depth in these particular decals, in many shades of gold/brown.

The wooden top (mahogany? walnut?) is made up of diagonal-grain pieces on the outside, mitered at the corners, and with an inlaid ruler along the edge.

There is a domed cover for the machine, but it is not original. Still, it is well made and keeps the dust off.

This machine has been sold.
